Staff Jobs at Fake Festivals
At Fake Festivals, we believe our team of staff play a big part in creating a great atmosphere and helping the festival goers get the most out of the experience.
To work as part of the team you will need to register a staff profile with us.
Register to work
The registration process is undertaken in Facebook Messenger and is handled by Fakebot, our friendly Fake Festivals robot. During the process you will be asked for contact details and personal profile information, such as date-of-birth. You can be any age to register a staff profile, but you will not be offered a job if you are under 18yrs old on the day of the event.
If your profile is suitable, we will send you an approval notification through Messenger and you can then tell us which festival events you would like to work. We'll also let you know if your profile is not what we are looking for.
Where and when
Once you have accepted a job offer, we will send you reminders through Messenger at 27 days, 10 days and 1 day before the event. The reminders will contain full details, but the event locations can be found on event webpages. The arrival time is usually 45mins before the event starts and your role is generally completed 30mins after the event end time.
The job roles of staff can include bar work, litter clearance, recycling and generally looking after the festival goers. You do not need experience to be part of the team, but it can help with your registration. Jobs are allocated during the event and you may change job roles as the need arises.
We pay you to work the full duration of the event, excluding breaks. The work period can be up to 12 hours (depending on which event you are working), during which you will be allocated appropriate breaks. Before the start of the event there will be a staff briefing/training. Pay is £107.50 gross - you will receive £86.00 cash on completion of your shift. Tax and National Insurance contributions are paid at source and you will receive appropriate payslips and paperwork which you can use to claim these deductions back from HMRC if applicable.
What to bring
We may ask for ID when you arrive at the festival, to verify your age and confirm your identity.
Wear black clothing and shoes that will be comfortable. You will be given a black t-shirt to identify you as a staff member. You're welcome to wear shorts on hot days and remember that it gets cold at night so bring some layers to wear under your staff t-shirt. You will need to return your staff t-shirt at the end of the shift.
It is your responsibility to bring any food or drink (excluding tap water) that you may need. There will be food traders at the festival too.
Managing job offers
