THE BIG FAKE FESTIVAL 2018

The “Big One” is back for a 5th year! Could you rock 24 bands over 3 days?

Set in the beautiful woodlands of Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire, this is our massive end-of-season finale, we like to go out in a big way! Although similar to a UK tour date, this festival is on a much larger scale and includes FREE campsite and secure parking for all.

All 24 of our finest Fake Bands, as featured on the 2018 UK tour, will perform inside our giant big-top marquee, 12noon-12midnight each day. These bands are almost the real deal and they really know how to play a large festival crowd. Top-level lighting and sound guarantee you an unbeatable festival experience.

Set in the beautiful woodlands of Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire, with camping facilities within the grounds, the festival is easy reached because of its UK midlands location. Set your sat-navs for Market Field, Netherfield Lane, Thoresby Park, Notts NG22 9EW and you'll be delivered right to the gates!

When you first check into the festival we’ll provide an access wristband so that you can visit daily or come and go when you like, within reason.

Site facilities

Food & Drink

Food & drink you bring to the festival must only be consumed in the campsite. Do not bring it into the festival marquee area, bags will be checked when you enter.

‘The Big Fake Festival’ operates the same as the tour dates, except on a larger scale. There will be quality food traders located inside the secured fenced area offering you delicious types of food to keep you going all day and throughout the night. The licensed bar inside the marquee will serve the usual Fake Festivals range of chilled bar and soft drinks. The bar will be open daily from when the festival marquee doors open at 12noon until 23:45 that evening. The food traders within the festival marquee area will also be available from when the festival doors open until the festival closes daily at 12midnight.

At Fake Festivals the bar is operated on a drink token system, a single drink token can be exchanged for a bar drink or two soft drinks. Drink tokens can be purchased inside 'The Big Fake Festival' marquee at the token desk and will be priced at £3.50 each. Both cash and card are accepted at the token desk and 'cash-back' will be available.

You are welcome to bring your own food with you but it must only be consumed within the campsite area.

As for alcohol, we simply ask you to consume only our drinks when ‘inside’ the festival marquee area. You are welcome to bring your own supply for your campsite. We ask you NOT to bring any hard liquor or spirits with you and please remember that no glass is permitted on the site at any time. Your personal alcohol allowance can only be consumed in the campsite, you will not be allowed to take it into the festival marquee area.

Campsite

For insurance reasons, NO GLASS is allowed anywhere on the site.

Camping at 'The Big Fake Festival' is free for all ticket holders, without booking, but the best pitches are taken first so arrive as early as you can. Showers (warm water, individual cubicles) and toilet facilities are available to all campers and areas will be sectioned into Caravans, Motorhomes/Campervans and Campers (tents). Standing water is available but electrical hook-ups are not.

You will NOT be able to park your cars next to your tents, but the car park is adjacent to the camping area and we do allow the drop-off of gear before you park. You able to retrieve items from your car at any point.

Breakfast food traders will be open from 08:00-11:00 around the camping area ready to cook up a full breakfast and fresh coffee for all the Fake Festival campers.

If you are camping or caravanning you are welcome into the camping area from 12:00 on Thu 30 Aug to get set up. The camping/caravanning area will open daily at 09:00 from Fri 31 Aug - Sun 02 Sept. You must vacate the grounds by 12:00 noon on Mon 03 Sept. There are no reservations and pitches are provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

From 5pm on Thu 30 Aug you will be able to get your ticket scanned and your wristband issued to ensure no queuing on Friday to get into the festival marquee area.

We do not allow fires of any type and we do not allow any disposable BBQ's that sit at ground level. We do allow BBQ's that are raised off the ground to about 0.5m-1m on legs or by such other means and must be fully extinguished after use with all BBQ waste removed from site in the appropriate manner.

Dogs or any other pets are not permitted on the Thorsby Park grounds at any time.

Diesel generators are ok as long as they are quiet. No petrol generators please, the site owner does not permit flammable fuels.

Parking

There will be adequate FREE parking for both those who are camping and for anyone attending for the day. The daily car park will be open from 09:00 on 31 Aug, 01 Sept and 02 Sept.

The camping and parking areas will have 24 hour patrolling security to ensure everyone can relax and have a great weekend and by all means leave your vehicle at the festival overnight if you need to. If you do leave your car overnight on the last festival day then please ensure you collect your vehicle by 12noon on Mon 03 Sept.
